Bhavani Jamukkalam - craft documentation
Hand-woven carpets, or Jamukkalams as they are known are made in Bhavani, a town on the banks of the river Kaveri in Tamil Nadu.
The looms that they work on huge, and can range from up to 1 foot to about 15 feet in length. Such hand woven carpets are unique to Bhavani, and hence has the unique GI - Geographical indication tag.
