National Park of Dzukija Visitor Center
Dzukija National Park is the largest protected area in Lithuania. It preserves the unique sandy plain of South-Eastern Lithuania with the huge Dainava forest, which surrounds many converging rivers. One of the objectives of the exposition of Dzukija National Park is to present the most important natural values of the park.
My task was to create a visual identity for the exhibition; to find a key attribute that would highlight the park’s most important values and unique features that separate it from other Lithuanian regional parks.
Since it is a very wooded area composed of mostly pine forests, I wanted to create the exhibition through the point of view of a pine tree, choosing the character of the pinecone – Bužukas (in a local dialect) – its shape, the form of the pine cone seed, which accommodates the entire story and different aspects of the exposition.
