The Ground Floor perspective
The First Floor perspective
The Second Floor Perspective
Facade. Facade does not hide history of the building. The brick wall and its covering was reconstructed and protected from further destruction so the exterior remain the same.
Section The main idea of the project Across the Centuries is that building has long history where every floor was built in different ages. So context of old building is kept and design of every floor is unique. the Ground Floor is 18 century with busy plan of columns and arches; the First Floor is 19 century with more open plan but still dark space because of small windows; the Second Floor is 21 century (Contemporary) with absolutely free and light open space and natural illumination through the big windows; There is an atrium between the first and the second floor which helps us to see all three centuries. The first floor has glass floor so we could see through the atrium the historical structure underfoot (tops of arches) and above head (contemporary design) at the same time. When we stay on the second floor we also watch down «across the centuries»
Floor Plans Across the Centuries includes exhibition rooms for permanent and temporary exhibitions, auditorium, multiple-use event spaces, children’s interactive gallery, storage, WC and cloakroom.

Across the Centuries

The contemporary museum is a place with a multiplicity of functions, which has to combine traditional roles of interpreting and conserving a wide range of artifacts with requirements for large-scale
retail areas, complex new technologies and the circulation needs of the public. Areas where objects are not
displayed in static form, but which offer itineraries through which the explanatory panels, computer screens, and the atmosphere of the area invite the visitor to participate. The ultimate aim is, therefore, not merely to classify and divulge the contents but to incorporate the
museum into the type of place where people will ready spend their leisure time. (2011)
