Safelight is an analog film lab in Berlin and as Development Manager I was responsible for organising and processing the daily input of films but I would also take on graphic design and illustration projects when needed.
This project was the most recent. A t-shirt graphic for summer 2023. The brief was for a film developer machine-monster throwing film canisters into his mouth (back), whilst a frightened film canister bites it’s nails anxiously (front). Colours were to reflect the Fuji developer and include the companies motto “shoot film, stay broke”.
Printed in black and teal with a half tone black for the grey. This image was intended to demonstrate the brand’s aggressive but playful way of handling workflow.
Look-book style product photography was shot on film and developed in this very machine.
