An affordable, sustainable home designed for an Artist/Academic couple, which balances privacy and collaboration in an open, flexible plan with a visual relationship with the environment wherever possible. The stacked stone wall defines the major axis of the space, and differentiates between public and private areas of the building. The form and placement of this material is representative of the couple’s long-term effort to save for his home, and demonstrates their belief that incremental efforts can build substantial, meaningful, and beautiful results.
