Avon Cinema Accordion Sequence
This is an accordion sequence. Its main
objective was to gain understanding
that anything can be inspiration for
design. The original assignment for
this piece was to create a series of
three postcards to describe a certain
space or place. From there, I was to
choose an object from the place and
create a narrative with sequential
images. I chose the Avon Cinema in
Providence, Rhode Island. The object
I then chose was a movie ticket. The
narrative I created was the action of
buying a ticket to see a movie and
then exchanging it to get into the
movie. I hand-drew each step to create
that give and take narrative. I used
actual red tickets, similar to the ones
the Avon Cinema uses, to help drive
the point home and give the piece
some life.
