FURNITURE DESIGN- The stack or sit
The main brief of this module was to observe a problem faced in daily life and solve it creatively. Being a book lover myself, I studied bookstores such as Crossword and Landmark and found that even though there are numerous shelves for books, the seating arrangement in comparision is less. In order to solve this problem, the foldable chair’s concept was developed. The main concept of the chair was to have design it in such a way that it is compact and could be used to conserve space. Also, the unfolding needed to be easy to understand and access. These were the problems that were solved creatively.
