For a special project, I was given the choice to settle on a word, then depict the meaning and express it in any medium on a poster. In a previous side project, I had helped a friend to think of a proper title for an upcoming song release. This typography was all hand drew and then vectored. The original typography and drawing took hours of effort to perfect and design to give the proper feel of ‘sylph’.
I researched synonyms and relatable words that represented air or fluidity. I stumbled upon the word “sylph”. The form of the word itself was interesting, the s and y and the l and ph were interesting figures put together. So not only the word meaning was interesting, the form was unique.
