NorthStar Cafe - This project was a group project. In my group, I was responsible for all of the FormZ renderings. I also came up with the design elements such as the facetted wood walls and the enclosed booths, aided in the space planning and was responsible for coordinating my other teammates' work. For this project, I also explored using color maps for the surface styles.
Dermatology Office - This contemporary dermatology office was designed to have a salon-like atmosphere. Rich colors of blues, red-orange, olive greens and deep neutrals enhances the space. The materials and finishes bring the outdoors in, providing a soothing environment for the clients. The floorplan is very open, yet the clients that have cosmetic procedures can exit the building privately. The overall design was carefully planned out to be functional and to meet the needs of the clients.
The Moulin Rouge Cafe - This building is a historical monument in New Orleans and provides the perfect backdrop for the Moulin Rouge Cafe. The cafe has a wild and exciting atmosphere. The rich colors of red and gold will excite and invite the clients into the space. The overall design brings interest, intimacy and lead the clients throughout the space. The Moulin Rouge Cafe will be an exciting coffee shop that will be perfect for the New Orleans Crowd.
Global Living Fixture Package - This project was a fixture package for the furniture store, Global Living. The aim of this project was to create a contemporary and a traditional wallscape system to be the backdrop behind the visual furniture displays. The wallscape system also serves as a way to divide up the large store space.
Hand Renderings - Though I have extensive knowledge of computer modeling, I also am capible of doing hand renderings through a variety of mediums.
Custom Coffee Table - This contemorary coffee table design was influenced by the style of asian simplicity. The middle of the table is a semicircle shelf that is perfect for storage of magazines. The glass in the middle is flush witht the top of the table and does not take away from the interesting center. The legs curve inware, mimicking the curve of the semicircle shelf. THe faux leather adds interest to the table and serves as a cleanable surface.
Senior Thesis: A Snoezelen Room - For my thesis project, I chose to explore the concept of snoezelen design and its effects on special ed students. In my research I found that there are many benefits of having a snoezelen room included in a special ed program. The space serves two purposes: To provide stimulation or relaxation for the student in order to help him or her do better in the classroom setting. I believe that interior designers could further enhance the concept by utilizing their knowledge of interior design.
The Urban Pantry - For this project, I had to design a gourmet food store located in the trendy short north area in Columbus, Ohio. I came up with the overall store concept, the products the store would sell, the logo, and packaging. I wanted the store to have be an inviting and earthy environment, yet to have a contemporary look.
