Cascadia Natural Talent Design Competition

Cascadia Green Building Council’s Natural Design Competition asked students to create a design that addressed a wide variety of key design issues with developing new homes in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina survivors. Such issues ranged from considering the demographics of the home occupants to investigating the reoccurring flood potential. During this project I was recruited by an Interior Design team from Kwantlen College to engineer and implement mechanical solutions into their house design. The final project, titled “The Refresh Home”, upheld LEED gold standards, met the budget requirements, and was customized to promote healthy living for the elderly demographic. My role in the project was to use my engineering skills to introduce mechanical and technical solutions into this Refresh Home design. "Refresh Home”was ranked in the top three for regional submissions.
