Cityscape Residential, a multifamily investment property development co., came to us to organize & implement a groundbreaking event for three new properties. As the lead on this initiative, I managed a team of three. The client didn't want this to be an "all about me" event, like many groundbreakings. We put our heads together & decided to make it about the future of Kansas City, connecting with the history.
There were several historical sites visible from the groundbreaking site. We invited 4th grade students from Crossroads Academy to the event with the promise of cookies & a short history lesson. Photo boards of the historic sites were printed & the students got a front row seat to be a part of both the past & the future of the city we call home.
As the account lead, I coordinated the following: media outreach, event planning, photography shot list, photographer hire, media kits, hiring & coordinating with the vendors. Most importantly, making sure the Mayor was in attendance.
