Color theory: the mixing and visual effects of specific color combinations. There are also definitions of color combinations based on the color wheel such as primary, secondary, ect.
History of color theory: it is something that has woven into our existence. It is the theory of how colors mix. It is believed to first be written by Leone Battista Alberti in 1435. 55 years later it appeared in journals by Leonardo da Vinci. Sir Isaac Newton then took that and expanded upon it. Today it is history and something we use everyday.
