Blox is a product designed to aid the user in creating their own custom sized packing box template for when sending out items that have been sold online.
The problem which Blox aims to solve is over-packaging. This is when products are dispatched in packing boxes which are excessively larger than the product inside. This can be seen as a waste of not only cardboard but packing materials too.
Blox works in three steps. The first is to open Blox to the desired size of the item you wish to package. The next step is to fold down all the sides which allow the user to translate 3-D sizes into 2-D dimensions. The third and final step is to stamp out the template onto a flat sheet of cardboard, using the different cut and crease “stamping teeth” that have been designed into Blox.
All plastic housing pieces have been designed to be injection moulded from Polypropylene. The telescopic sliders can be extruded from aluminium and the stamping teeth are produced using stamped PP.
