Unnoticed

This is a film photography project I presented at NCUR 2014. This work is not about decay, as I initially intended it to be. It's about coexistence.

These photos are moments in time where man and nature overlap, but not where they clash. A few photos have hints of something more aggressive, but for these most part, these photos are quiet, purposeful pauses in which man and nature coexist as two inevitable entities. Man will continue to build and progress and create an infrastructure, acting immortal and all-powerful. He is capable of incredible accomplishment and achievement, and his awareness of this is evident in his structures.
Conversely, nature will continue to be patient and subtle, picking up what man abandons and creating something organic out of it. Her touch is soft and quiet, beautiful and flowing where man is edged and rigid. Man is bold, but temporary where nature is enduring. These soft images draw attention to the sharp intersections where man and nature meet.
