BetterBlocksPhilly is an unprecedented community-driven design demonstration project, engaging residents, artists and designers in creating a living/functioning exhibit of “Complete Street” concepts, with temporary traffic calming and streetscape installations, as well as pop-up shops and community events. The events took place during Design Philadelphia 2011, along one city block in the South of South Neighborhood District. BetterBlocks is a national movement to improve neighborhoods.
