Rethinking the bird feeder to promote cleanliness and health.
A bird feeder has two users that need to be considered - the bird (of course) but also the consumer who must buy, clean, and maintain the product.
The problem with bird feeders is that they are tedious to clean and refill. Most owners are unaware that dirty feeders can spread diseases throughout the local bird population. How can we change this?
My goal is to make a feeder that is not only easy to clean but also engages the user to interact with the product so that they will actually clean it.
Concept 1 - the Creative User. Birds love fruits. All of my concepts focus on fruit feeders because fruits are easily bought at the local grocery store and offer a point of difference from traditional feeders. By allowing users to create their own "bird environments" will they be more likely to pay attention to the feeder, hence keep it cleaner?
Concept 2 - Creative User Mini. Perhaps a smaller footprint of the first concept is less intimidating.
Concept 3 - Weave It. Along the same lines of the first two concepts, these idea allows the user to weave their own "nests" to experiment with bird interaction.
Concept 4 - Framed. Framing the individual fruits with simpler, more intuitive user interaction.
The final concept - Screw It! All of the previous interactive ideas culminate into the Skruva concept. Based off the iconic leaf shape, the feeder simply screws into the fruit for engaging interaction. It's a new, entirely different means of refilling a feeder while promoting fun and playfulness.
Easy to use. Easy to clean.
Enrich your home with the Skruva Bird Feeder.
Simple. Easy. Clean.
