Arrábida Villa is a sophisticated and minimalistic project, yet deeply thought at its every single detail aiming to touch an utopian perfection. When I was designated to work on it the project was already designed and apparently closed. Given some temporal distance from its previous phases, the idea was to mature the project by redesigning all the interiors and refining the building shape. What seemed so simple did actually challenged our capacity and the final design got really delicate. Since this villa is meant to be Camilo’s future house, the dynamic of the discussions was always very interesting. By being both the client and the architect, it was always very clear and straightforward with what was and wasn’t going to work and what should’ve been done from the very beginning.
