This is a one handed style bar clamp with a spring loaded feature. This concept was given over to our team for refinement.
Clamps like this (without the spring loaded mechanism) have been figured out for years, so the most important aspect of this design was to dial in the spring tension, and the spring cover.
Based on the popularity of the first spring-loaded clamp, we decided to add a heavy-duty version to the line.
The spring-Loaded clamps are great, but like any clamp, they are not perfect. There are areas such as clamping around a workbench apron that the clamps could use some assistance in.
I originally started by trying so solve the problem of clamping around a workbench apron, but this expanded into a full kit of specialty jaw attachments.
We ended up deciding on four different attachments; the riser, dual foot, angled foot for dowels, and mountable foot.
The tab securely holds the foot to the clamp

Rockler Spring-Loaded Bar Clamps and Jaw Attachments

These are game changing clamps. They are a one handed style woodworking clamp that have a spring loaded mechanism. It makes clamping operations much faster. We also developed a series of specialty jaw attachments for the clamps to expand their versatility. Like all other Rockler products in my portfolio, while I was the primary designer. These were developed in collaboration with a small team of designers and woodworkers who all help make these products a success. With the spring loaded feature on the clamps in particular, the idea for the spring integration into the clamp was not my idea, it was given over to our team to develop from a concept into the refined products we sold.
