The organizers of the Minneapolis Mile Automotive Festival approached me to create award posters for the event. The goal of these awards was to give the winners something unique and specific to their corner of the car world, but keep a consistent theme that unified all 103 awards. Each award had 4 layers. First off there was the Minneapolis skyline, this carried in every award and it was important to show its signature aspects. Next was the focal point which was a vehicle or icon that was specific to the award, for example a Mustang for best Ford or a paint sprayer for
best paint. This is where the majority of the work went in. For full disclosure several of these vehicles were not drawn by me, but the vector art was purchased by my client. The third layer was the background and in a lot of cases we made this the flag of the country the car was from. Lastly, the award title block and sponsors. The title block altered between gold, silver, and bronze.
