Bubble Hall

The research has as one of its most important components the development of
appropriate constructive techniques for lightweight, mobile, shallow foundations andlow energy cost objects; made mostly of bamboo culms or strips, natural fibers and raw earth.
The Bubble Hall is one of the results of his research. Its shape is approximated of that described by a soap bubble, when blown and manipulated by the investigator, according to previously established parameters. The similarity to such geometry is achieved through various interactive experiments among different
states of a model - electronic, manufactured/miniature and in use - which follow geodesic lines of the shape in question, reducing the use of materials and the amount of energy required to build the object.
This object was used as an exhibition stand, meeting room and classroom
during the Rio+20 conference, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 2012.
Measures: 7,70m length x 6,00m width x 3,20m height / Total Area: 46,20 m2
