Walking With Dinosaurs: DINO RUN! was developed using the Unity Engine to speed up the development process and several plug-ins. It also allowed development to adapt the UI and menus to a wide variety of iOS and Android devices. The character 'Scowler' and his journey from film model render to game model. He was a difficult character to "cartoonify" as there was much contention about his colour that were eventually clarified by BBC during the last hours before the game's launch! Walking With Dinosaurs: DINO RUN!

Walking With Dinosaurs: DINO RUN! is an endless runner and movie tie-in mobile game based on the BBC movie 'Walking with Dinosaurs' (2013) in the same style as Temple Run and Subway Surfers. Designed and released for iOS and Android devices, players use swipe gestures to run, jump, dodge and charge their way through prehistoric landscapes of the Cretaceous Period as the movie's hero, Patchi the Pachyrhinosaurus. Players progress through the game by collecting leaves and feathers and are able to unlock more characters and environments from the film.

The project was an entirely independent production with collaboration with BBC London, BBC LA, Ben Badgett, Animal Logic and a small game developer team. The game was produced with a tiny budget and completed within a very tight 6 month deadline to coincide with the feature film's release in North America. Whilst the movie is photorealistic the game is highly stylised for mobile platforms to appeal to the younger target market.
