A pilot for a possible TV or web series that began as a final year university project.
Follow the adventures of Jim, a hard edged Aussie detective, and Chang, a new member of the Victoria Police who's part of an officer exchange program with Hong Kong, as they bust crime on the streets of Melbourne, Australia in this action-packed parody of American and Hong Kong action movies and TV shows of the 70's and 80's.
Written, directed and made by me with barely a budget for costumes and props, all actors are friends and family with exception of Jim, played by actor Kristian Beddow.
Shot on miniDV and edited in Final Cut Pro. Visual effects shots including compositing shots onto background plates; film grain; and aged film look done in After Effects. Sound editing done with assistance of Pip Atherton of Complete Post.
Featured in the Memory Grid and on the outdoor big screen at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) at Federation Square Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
