The Pedal Porter has been designed to be part of a public share system or integrate into a public bike share system and would be centered around shopping centers and supper markets with drop off stations doted around the community.
The quick release foot pedal allows the castor wheel to be easily folded down to make the Pedal Porter a maneuverable shopping cart and just as easily folded up so it can be used as a trailer.
This is the snap lock hitch, that when pushed against the seat pole of a bike it raps around the pole and locks in place and is only released once the red tab is pulled back. A ball and sock joint at the base of the hitch makes the trailer highly maneuverable.

The Pedal Porter

The Pedal Porter bike trailer is a result of my final year honours project at Massey University School of Industrial Design in Wellington.
The aim of this project was to design a versatile product that would enhance and promote cycling in urban areas. The Pedal Porter is designed to be a public share bike trailer that would be integrated into a pre existing bike share system. It is a dual function design allowing the user to use it both as a trailer and as a shopping cart giving the user more flexibility in its use.
