Design brief & Sketches. A wearable technology piece for “Zak,” the kid with headphones who loves the X Games, playing music and skateboarding. My first thought was clothes or jewelry that play visualizers, club style. Then I realized Zak and his friends would want to film each other skateboarding and playing music. A wearable video system filled the need to shoot, edit and share video clips on the fly.

SLA models were made by exporting a Rhino model to the .stl format. Rough aluminum parts were made by exporting a Rhino model to iges format. The overlay material and colors were inspired by mens clothing, so as to blend well with their environment. A variety of opaque and translucent materials were tested. The final combination was chosen for its rugged, wearable appeal.
