Design Manager of a women’s snowboard collection. Inspired by Victoria Jealouse, this package reflects the natural environment. Black and white nature photography appears frozen under ice in the board graphic. Pearlescent leather, transparent blue plastic and metallic accents echo the frosted finish on the boots and bindings.

Inspired by the need for a softer, more comfortable backstay design to eliminate calf pain. Adding gel cushions a common pressure point on the back of the calf. The asym shape is contoured to fit lower female calf muscles. When I first started snowboarding there wasn't a lot of women's equipment. Nothing fit so I was always tinkering with my gear. The board on the right is an Air 4.5 I cut down with a hack saw into a shape I thought would spin better in the halfpipe. It was the best of both worlds: The narrower width and directional flex of a free riding board, with the lower swing weight of a twin tip. (My Twin 39 was so wide and stiff it didn't work with my size 5 feet.) It worked so well the board product manager asked me if he could take it back to the factory and trace it. A year later he called and offered me a job in product development. The shape went on to become a board called the Custom, one of the bestselling models of all time. Then I got to help design their first women’s hardgoods collection.
