Hortense is a personal project which I worked on in my free time to find the essence of my vision of a timeless design.
Creating a 55 m yacht has the same dimension like a building which is meant to stay for decades. Standing stable
and firm in structure and style. For a project of this size, resources shouldn’t be wasted for a product that will be out of
fashion within some years.
Looking back on a history of yacht design we can find shapes, lines and materials reappearing and being reused again
and again because they follow rules of aesthetics. At the same time fashion imposes new styles which are only valid for a
short period of time. With this in mind I created a yacht that brings in modern design elements standing on a foundation
of classical lines.
