Brief - Design an electronic thermometer for our chosen market, mine being the Fire Service.
Description - This small product would allow the Fire Service to know whether there are any fires or heat sources behind any closed doors in burning buildings, thus preventing any possible injury by opening closed doors.
Materials - ABS mixed with PVC to make it fireproof.
Model - Following a set of GA drawings created using Solidworks, a 1:1 scale model was then produced by creating an MDF mould and vacuum forming over using HIPS. I also created the electronics by soldering components to a PCB and designing the casing to fit the electronics.
