Group Project: Frio

> Group brief based on portable food sampling, our group was given ice-cream as our sample item. Our solution keeps the ice-cream at a suitable temperature, set by the operator with an easy to use interface. It is then extruded (using a simple up/down/return control) to be scooped using a disposable spoon (compostable), and handed to the sampler.

>”The aesthetics and styling were inspired by traditional ice-cream parlours and the organic flow of the ice-cream itself. The extrude and scoop system was designed to create an illusion of a “Never-ending pot” of ice-cream.

> An innovative handle design helps to channel the hot air from the cooling plates out to side exhaust vents for the comfort of the operator.

> The extruding platform houses an integrated cooling plate and temperature probe, which allow the operator to monitor and control the internal temperature to suit a range of frozen and semi-frozen products.
