Here is a more detailed view of the screen printing I did on the top flap. The pattern is created from a repeating tile I made in Adobe Illustrator.
Simple, black Velcro closing system for the flaps.
The main pocket is large enough to store my essentials.
The smaller pocket stores all the pens, pencils, and odds and ends necessary.

Because I focus mostly on 2D design, this project was a mental stretch for me. The assignment was to create a bag and I decided that the most generally useful type of bag to me is a back pack. This was the first time I tried my hand at sewing, but lots of test runs helped me learn pretty quickly. The whole process from ideation to final product took me about 4 weeks.
