Public Realm
My experience of the design and implementation of high quality public realm projects covers many towns and cities in Scotland and the rest of the UK. From my competition winning design for Sauchiehall Street (1) to the overseeing role I had for the award winning Hamilton Town Square (2). This was followed by Old Cross (3) in Hamilton which also won design awards. Both projects had great integration between engineering, landscape architecture and art. Lighting also plays a key role as demonstrated in my design for City Science in Glasgow (4). Often working in an historic setting such as Renfrew Town Centre (5) and Stirling City Centre (6) each design is unique and works alongside the existing assets. Sometimes the best projects have a timeless quality such as South Ancaster Square (7) which swept away clutter and reinstated a classic, robust and eminently appropriate solution.
