The essential elements of campus design remain the same. Each requires consideration of movement, activity and shelter. From the design of a recovery garden for transplant patients at Harefield hospital (1) to a school extension in Aberdeen (2). I was also partner in charge of the design of two new schools in Orkney. Business parks such as Maxim (3) also contain similar elements. The quality of the landscape spine holds the whole campus together. I have worked in the very north of Scotland designing the Wick Community Campus (4) which accommodates a wide range of users with differing needs. With security a key consideration I also designed the external spaces for the new Police Scotland HQ in Glasgow (5). Designing for desert temperatures when looking at eight north African universities (6), xeriscape planting and essential shaded walkways were part of the design that echoed the colours and forms of the landscape. Closer to home I was partner in charge for two schools in Falkirk (7).
