The original logo, colors, and typography. Not very well thought out when first created over 10 years ago, especially the undefined colors they were using that were inconsistent across multiple platforms.
Logo redesign - I started with the rings from before. Once we decided on rebranding the company as "re" I created a typographic logo that could easily be used online and in print. It makes a great monogram and works well as an app tile.
Color refresh - Since most of what they do is online, I decided to start with colors that work well in video and on the web. Usually I prefer going the CMYK route first and then finding good matches in RGB and hex but it made sense with this project to start with known web design colors. Seagreen and its lighter tint are the primary colors with cool rich black and its tint as secondary. These two work well together and resemble the original site but I also added three tertiary colors, each with a lighter tint, so they can have some better variety.
Typography rethink - The typefaces before were mostly basic (i.e. Times New Roman) and not strictly adhered to. These three typefaces work better for the multimedia work that they do and have a bit more character (pun intended).
The re logo is intended to be used both as a symbol but also as a typographic mark or drop cap that can be used for emphasis like in this photo.
The prefix "re" means "again" and in a way it is synonymous with change. The owner/operator of the company felt it was important for his clients to know that they are changing their style and approach to their business.
They ended up using these photos in an introductory video
Website - The work on the website is ongoing as I await content. This concept is what I envision the site looking like.

Re-branding - R&E Media

Full redesign for an out of touch multimedia company. Color, typography, logo, voice, and online presence completely rethought from square one.

This project was challenging at first, but once we found a solid idea--leveraging the "re" prefix as a visual representation of their business mindset--it went smoothly.
