Many different styles of boots and sneakers, such as boat shoes, work boots, and basketball shoes, were referenced for inspiration.
The hybrid Screamer required the styling of classic hikers but the sole had to perform up to modern standards. In order to make the shoe light and comfortable, running became a key source of inspiration. Top-performing running shoes represented all the qualities that were required: cushioning, light weight, and durability.

Fila possesses a very strong outdoor and hiking culture. High quality, top-performing boots are a staple along with vintage inspired trail walkers recalling the brands history. The Screamer is a hybrid boot that combines both of these categories. The overall concept was to take the typically heavy hiking boot, and turn it into a light and comfortable urban lifestyle boot. The design references the clean and simple styling of classic hikers and blends it with modern performance details. An injection phylon outsole keeps the boot light and offers superior cushioning.
