the curious case of Indian hunger
The United Nations has declared India one of the hungriest countries in the world. Yet we find ourselves in the strange and cruel situation of a Paradox of Plenty. While we are setting higher records of food production every year, 40% of children in India are malnourished.
India produces enough food a year to meet the needs of 1.2 billion people, but because of the poor infrastructure of storage facilities we are forced to resort to food export.
