Original concept, with insert to adjust razor blade up and down 1/8 inch from 3/8ths to 1/2 inch.
Hand model (edges pinched into corners to trace profiles), tracing, & radius gauges.
Bottom (left) & Top (right) profiles for trimming tool.
Offset sketches by 1 inch and connected with measured radiuses.
Lofted solid with various fillets.
Concept # 2 - two in one, like original concept, where 1/8th inch spacer allows blade to cut at 3/8th or 1/2 inches. Screws from top. Not favored, as the blade is very near the edges when set at 1/2 inch.
Concept # 3 - Bolted together like a utility knife from the bottom. This version also has the 1/8 inch spacer, which was ultimately abandoned.
Concept 4a - This version is the same as Concept 3, except it is specific to the 3/8ths inch height. This is the first of two final designs.
Concept 4b - This version is the same as Concept 3, except it is specific to the 1/2 inch height. This is the second of two final designs.
Finished product for production. 3D printed on Fortus 400.
