This piece is representing the evolution of a mind. I chose to make a creature with human like parts but not actually a human, because I believe human intelligence is not the only type of intelligence in the universe. The smallest creature has the least amount of lightbulbs, because he represents the youngest. The largest has the most lightbulbs, because he represents the oldest. The oldest has many layers to represent wisdom of an evolved creature. And from a human perspective, these layers represent the evolution of the mind creating dimensions. Humans have gone from "the world is flat" to "the world is round" to "heaven and hell" to "the 4th dimension" to "string theory (11 dimensions)" and so on and so forth. I find this very interesting, so I decided to show this in this piece.
