Playing around with Steampunk elements and my initials.
A hand-carved gift for my partner, with one of the sketches in reverse. At the time I was unsure which way was better to carve it until I finished sketching.
Ever since I was young I've loved sketching cars, usually just in profile. This one was done in the past year. I still need to work on my perspective eye.
Concept for an accent, or mood, light. The rechargeable battery source could fit into the spine and the 'white page edges' would diffuse a strip of internal LEDs. The 'book' could lay flat or stand up on its end.
Design for an 'outhouse' to cover the bathroom plunger. A spinning base allows the unit to rotate for easier access to the plunger when needed.
A great drinker of water, I always take a bottle with me when going out and rarely buy bottled water. Existing water bottles tend to be too big or bulky for just a short trip. The answer? A flask, of course!
I did a sketch of my partner's daughter's initials when she visited this summer, intending to give it to McKenna as a gift. I was 'encouraged' to carve them and so I did, incorporating a 'jewel' in the M and Minecraft cubes in the K, which added strength to the structure. Plus she LOVES minecraft.
During my internship at the ROM, I worked on ways to improve the public's use of the refuse area in the museum's main eatery. This is an image of the final install of signage in the cafe to improve the use of the different waste stream options: paper, compost, garbage, and plastic / glass recycling.

A project from my degree course, to design a wayfinding system / display stand for the school. This one shows a lost caveman / alien seeking directions - obviously I need some drawing practice with figures. (2/2
A severed hand I made for our Halloween cauldron of candy, left in the lobby. The picture in the middle is of the hand attached to the cauldron, I had just finished modelling it. i painted it afterwards - hopefully it won't be stolen this year when we put it out.
These are some sketches for a holder for a USB plug. These are the sketches I call the 'non-whimsical', the other page shows the 'whimsical'. 1/2
The 'whimsical' USB holder designs, including an insitu rendering and a picture of a 3D printed prototype, intended to be made from silicone. 2/2

Scribbles + Such

This is a growing collection of sketches that I've done over the years, some graphic design, some ID concepts, and others craft pieces. These are not refined or finessed; I just want to show the thought processes and my interests.
