The Waterhouse Road Events Building is paying respect the its historic roots by bringing back the route to the dock edge to encourage activity around the water.
The events building is a multi-functional venue to house a variety of events from live music concerts, boxing shows comedians etc, to draw the public to this area of Hull. Its holds a capacity of 500 whilst it stands 700. The entrance itself is to the south of the building to draw people to the water edge to on look activities around the site : outdoor auditorium.
What makes this events building different to all the others is the atmosphere of how the event space can change due to the function taking place. The roof is designed to maximize the acoustics for best quality whilst the bespoke balcony is to enhance the hierarchy with views onto performances.
The movement through the spaces of the buildings are to encourage views of activity.
