The Airia rescue backboard was designed to increase efficiency and comfort during the rescue process for both the patient and the rescuer.
Present day rescue backboards are hard and often painful for the patient to lay on. Airia features a pad with a pneumatic lung that supports specific areas of the body during the rescue process. This allows the right amount of cushion to be provided without jeopardizing the spinal cord.
The complex straps used to secure the patient were redesigned to simplify the system and make it a much faster and more intuitive procedure for the rescuer.
