2nd Function - As the left heel switch is pressed, the orange part moves forward into the slot on the base as shown. Due to the slots angle, the orange part is forced downwards, thus pulling and locking the cymbols together. The pedal now acts like a lever - pressing the pedal pushes the cymbals apart.
