Urban design guidelines are used extensively in Fairfax County in its mixed-use districts to implement the area's design vision. The Guidelines are organized into two documents - a comprehensive set of best practices that apply to all of the county's urban districts; and a set of district-specific guidelines that implement specific streetscapes, public spaces, and other public realm features.
