Nike Concept: Basketball -Flyknit technology, with a supporting upper leather strip that wraps around the middle of the shoe. -Low cut; originally inspired form the Flyknit Runner.. and trying to translate this form into a basketball shoe. -Realised the need of superior reinforcement around ankle area, as the original runner is made for marathons. Whereas basketball requires a lot more lateral support.
Material Testing: Leather
Nike Concept: Cross Trainer -Hyperfused upper segments -Strong aesthetic developed through the sectioning of particular areas of the sneaker and therefore highlighting the skeletal structure. -Sole of shoe inspired from the Nike Flyknit Runner. Really like the strong cut into the sole that creates a dynamic negative space; eluding to speed and direction.
Nike Concept: Basketball -Initially inspired from the Lebron 8. -Slimming through the toe area to reinforce ideas of being agile, dynamic; seen in the Nike Free -Front becomes more cross-trainer like, yet still having the stability of high ankle support -Upper is similar to the traditional two tone on the Nike Dunk, but panels are narrower and does not wrap around toe
