The Beat Box Set
The “Beatnik” writers were pioneers of free-flowing prose, sexual and narcotic explorations and spontaneous adventures.
A long-time admirer of this genre of literature, I wanted to highlight the major authors who contributed to this cultural and literary revolution.
Each cover focuses on the “face” of each author. I pulled symbolism from the novels to create the abstract illustrations. For the typography, I chose a revived style of 1940’s Futura to echo the era in which these authors were active.
