Paseo De San Antonio, San Jose, CA

A projecting using the Concept "Folding in ?Architecture. The challenge was to use the verb “folding” and apply the Paseo de San Antonio Walk in San Jose, California into an urban living room which will fold together the San Jose State University community and the business and cultural communities surrounding it. Despite its location in downtown San Jose, the San Jose State University community functions as an isolated autonomous community in which the San Jose community at large has
little involvement. The re-invented “Folded Planes” seeks to convert this barrier
into a true bridge between the two communities. The reinvented east end of the Paseo will convert the far ends of
the two separate communities into a central bridge where the separate communities of San Jose State University and the San Jose community as a whole can merge into one.
