Hands Free PASS Device
Hands-Free PASS is an innovative Personal Alert Safety System device. PASS devices are worn by firemen to monitor their movement and alert team members when someone is motionless. Currently these devices are worn on the chest attached to the users Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SBCA) and also display its air pressure.
The Hands-Free PASS is innovative in location. By moving the device to the wrist it becomes more visible to the user, making it easier for them to read their SCBA air pressure, something extremely important to keep track of. Because a person moves their hands more frequently than their chest, the new device location picks up more movement.
