In this Crown Point, Ind., edition's centerpiece package, an American Legion member performs the proper disposal of American flags. While in the secondary image, veterans and students demonstrated the proper way to fold a flag.

Paying tribute to a sheriff's officer who was killed in the line of duty - Three of the five stories on this page were written by Reporter Diane Krieger Spivak. It isn't coincidence that we share the same last name, she is my mother.

boats on parade - Every year in Beaufort, S.C. thousands of people are drawn to the Parade of Lights in December on the Beaufort River. Beaufort Gazette's Photo Editor Bob Sofaly documented the occasion for this particular year.

Indiana edition: A tribute to the Pope - The Times of Northwest Indiana created a special edition of its newspaper the day that Pope John Paul II died. This is a photo page designed with specific photos that documented the local readers' reactions to the event.
