Food Market

I was assigned to research the patterns created by logs floating in a river. My findings can be found in the project before this. After analysis, I visited the Sweet Auburn Curb Market as a precedent and the site located at the corner of North Avenue and Linden Avenue. Here I studied the program, city, and site conditions. I then designed a food market based on my findings. The food market incorporates a greenhouse into it. There is a distinct progression through the building. After parking on the East side, visitors will enter through the greenhouse. They are walking through the treetops and can clearly see where the produce being sold in the market came from. They have the option to descend into the greenhouse and follow the paths below or enter the food market to shop. It is important to include the greenhouse because there is little farming land in the middle of Atlanta. Also, this insures the foods to be fresh.
