For CIRQUE DE OPULENCE I wanted to experiment with photo-realistic imagery, mixed with hand drawn and painted textures. These fabrics focus on those elements and intriguing imagery content. I was inspired by the ideas and feelings of a life in the circus! When designing my fabrics, I like to use unusual imagery and colorful subjects. This is a mystical story reflecting on the eccentric people in the circus – the outsiders and the rebels, celebrating the extravaganza of strange behaviors and talent, their beautiful embellished costumes and magical imaginations. I strove to capture the kaleidoscope of mysterious beauty and freakish delight of the circus in my fabrics.
