According to DOT regulations, any battery that is mounted inside the passenger space of a vehicle rather than in the engine compartment must be in a sealed box that is vented to the outside. This is a common practice in show cars where the battery itself is decorative. This EPU box was designed to show off the battery while still meeting those regulations.
