Nesting Chess Set
This project was developed by analyzing the predetermined rules of chess. The players all have rules dictating their movement. This creates a hierarchy within the chess set. Experiments with hierarchy led to the creation of a hierarchy based upon volume. The pawn is 1 cubic inch, the rook 2 cubic inches, the bishop 2.5 cubic inches and so on. Finally, once the game is complete all of the pieces return to the same box.
